DON’T WASTE YOUR MIND
William
is a childhood friend of mine. He has always had problem with money: he was
mostly broke and near-broke. He longed for a life where he will be able to have
more than enough although; he really didn't want a lot more than enough.
He simply wanted enough money to never have to stress about paying his bills on time and having enough to get the things that he wanted and desired.
To start
with, he didn't feel he was educated enough to get a really good job that paid
the really big bucks. So, he believes he is destined to always be broke; he
does not have faith in himself. He doesn't believe that he is supposed to live
an abundance life. Since this is his innermost belief, he will never live an
abundant lifestyle. Remember, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
Moreover,
our lifestyles, our relationships, our financial situation, our health, and
anything else you can think of, comes to us by whatever we believe to be true
about them. If you believe that life is hard and that it is a struggle, it
will always be hard and a struggle for you. If you believe that money is
hard to come by, then it will always be hard to come by for you. If you believe
that you are sickly, then you will always be sickly. If you believe you’ll
never be good at something, then you’ll never be good at it. It's all in
a state of mind.
Your mind
controls everything that happens to you. “But, there isn't any sort of course
of study that is required in our schools that teaches anything at all about the
mind and the power that it has, why?” Williams once asked me. True; school
systems are working on it now hence; we must follow the only other way − Learn
on your own.
Now
let's be honest, most people don't read. Yeah, they will read the newspaper and
their favourite magazine; the younger ones read tweets, posts, comments and
chats and averagely, nothing further than that. So, if no one is teaching us how
to understand the mind and its powers, how do we learn about it? It’s up
to you.
Like
everything else in life, it is up to you. You are the captain of your soul; the
architect of your life. If you don't like the results that you are
getting out of life, then it is up to you to challenge the status quo.
No one can change you but yourself. Similarly, you cannot change anyone
except they change themselves.
“But,
how do one start making changes?” he asked further. I suggest you learn about
the mind and how it functions. I started my path when I read the old classic “Think and grow rich” by Napoleon Hill and later “Think Big” by Ben Carson.
I suggest you do likewise or, go on the Internet and read all that you can relate
to the mind. Our mind is a masterpiece created by God. Start changing your
mind, if you want to start changing your life.
Begin now,
to learn about your mind. Learn to spend time weekly learning
about the mind and how it functions. Surf the internet, read regularly,
meditate and put to practice the things you read. I assure you, after a while,
you will feel how much the quality of your life will improve. Don’t waste your
mind, make things happen.
