10 THINGS I MEDITATE
This is
not a list drawn based on any genre or criteria. It is a list borne out of my
thoughts, habits and goals, both short and long term.
They are helping me grow
in life especially on how I treat money, relate with and react to people,
manage my time, pursue my goals and much more.
1.
ON EARNING:
Never
depend on a single income. We all need money and as our needs increase
due to life, family, children and career, we will need even more money. Multiple streams of income give you an easy way to manage. So, strive to create
passive income streams now and reap the benefits in years to come. Think outside the box and open your mind to new income ideas and consider small beginnings.
2.
ON SPENDING:
If you
buy things you do not need, soon you will have to sell things you need. Work on
your spending habits and learn budgeting: it will help you to save your money.
Remember, to become financially free, you must hold on to as much money you
earn and spend as less money as you can says Robert Kiyosaki,
3.
ON SAVINGS:
Do not
save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving. Pay your
tithe first, then pay yourself, next you save some before you start spending.
Saving is the fastest way to a life of investing and growing your hobby into a
business as well.
4.
ON TAKING RISK:
Never
test the depth of a river with both feet. Always test your ideas and
research them before taking actions. Be risk-averse more than
taking risks. But, never risk not taking bold steps. Because if you do,
you stand to face the pain of regret as you get older.
5.
ON INVESTMENT:
Do not
put all eggs in one basket. Diversify your business and investments.
However, this is not always the case for business and opportunities. The
decision matters according to information, trends and conditions.
6.
ON EXPECTATIONS:
Honesty
is a very expensive gift. Do not expect it from cheap people. By this, I do not
imply that you should judge people before meeting them, no. I just want you to
be stingy with your expectations; like I mostly do. And this has kept me away
from painful disappointments and disloyalty.
7.
ON TIMING
Past is
a waste paper, present is a newspaper, and future is a question paper. Come out
of your past, take charge of your present, and secure your future. Be smart
about how you spend your time for it is the currency of life. Avoid time wasters and know why people procrastinate.
8.
ON CHOICES
When
bad things happen in your life, you have three choices. You can either let it
define you, let it destroy you or you can let it strengthen you. Learning
from mistakes and experiences will make you become your desired reality.
Endeavor to always make one of two choices; for indecision is a choice.
9.
ÖN FOCUS
Our
eyes are in the front because it is more important to look ahead than to look
backwards. Looking backwards will bring you disaster: focus all the way. There
will be challenges and situations, yes there will. But, always remember
that you can achieve anything you want if only you believe in yourself enough, take action and dare the impossible.
10.
ON MISTAKES
Life is just like learning to ride a bicycle: you
mistake to balance, pedal, look forward, applying the brakes and much more. Do
not be afraid of making mistakes, for there is no better way of learning.
And when you mistake, don’t beat yourself so hard. Mistakes also bring about creativity
and innovations.
These
are ten things I meditate about. What about you, do you have any list of things
you meditate about? Well, if you don’t have any, why don’t you create one for
yourself now? Try it! I believe it will help you be in charge of your life in
more ways than if without any.
